Waikowhai Primary School and Tread Lightly Caravan's Litter Blitz

On 23 July Waikowhai Primary had our Litter Blitz. Each classroom was assigned an area around our school grounds or the neighbour hood to clean up. Our class had to pick up rubbish along part of Albretc Avenue, Quona Avenue and Road. We found all sorts of rubbish like drink bottles, empty chips packets, cigarette butts and straws. Tread Lightly supplied us with gloves, high vis vests and some sacks to collect the rubbish in. Have a look at us in action on that day. The whole school picked up 200kgs of rubbish. We made a pledge to be Tidy Kiwis. A big thank you to Rosanne Rua, Mrs Duncan and Mrs Mackenzie for coming with us.

Dance sessions on Tuesdays

Our Junior School Kiwisports focus this term is Dance. We have had two sessions so far and we have been learning the different dance elements with Miss Kathleen. For our warmups, we do games like Follow the leader. We copy all the different moves that the leader does. Then Miss Kathleen gets us to do different 2D shapes, sometimes in groups of two or three. Have a look at our photos.
