Creative Kererū Wētā Works

We have had an amazing start to our first week of online distance learning. It has been wonderful to catch up with the children, during our Zoom meetings.  We have been reading  Wētā went walking. It's about a Wētā who goes walking in the bush, Rat decides to go hunting!....Will Wēta be safe?, Does he know if Rat is following him.... The tamariki enjoyed listening to this story

Kererū has worked really hard, and has produced some outstanding work !!!.  First we drew a picture of a wētā. Then we labelled the different parts of the wētā and finally we wrote a sentence about our picture.

Let's have a look at Kererū's Creative Wētā Works.

Theo, drew a marvellous picture of a wētā.  He also wrote an awesome sentence about his picture
"My weta is looking for food".

Naomi has done an awesome job labelling the different parts of her wētā. ..Ka rawe!!!

Here is one of the many sentences Naomi wrote about her wētā...

Olivia H  What an amazing picture of her wētā  going for a walk.

Sarah has done a fantastic job drawing her wētā.  She has also wrote 3 super sentences about what the different parts of her wētā.

  1. Wow Kereru! What a wonderful start to your first week of Term 2. I like the book you read, Wētā went walking. I have been doing a lot of walking with my family at our local park, always remembering to keep a 2 metre distance from other people not in my bubble. I hope wētā was safe from the rat. I see creative illustrations, superb sentences and fabulous writing Kereru. Keep it up. Ka pai!
