"HAVE YOU FILLED A BUCKET TODAY?"..

Kererū Lockdown Learning
Welcome to Week 4

At the beginning of this week, Whaea Anita read  a story to Kererū called, "Have you filled a Bucket Today?", written by Carol McCloud.

This story is about how everybody in the whole wide world has an invisible bucket. You can't see it!!, but EVERYONE has one. We wondered how we could fill up our buckets as well as others. At first some of us thought we could fill up our buckets up with sand. But as we read through the story, we discovered how to be a bucket filler. We found out that it doesn't cost anything all we need to do is, Say kind words to each other, Help one another with kindness , think of others and their feelings.
Our activity was to make our buckets visible, decorate them, and share how we have been filling up our buckets.

Let's have a look at how Kererū
have been filling up their buckets.....

I like how you guys described what the book was about. I like all the videos you put on the post. I love watching you guys smile. Congratulations Ryan, Theo, and Naomi for getting those certificates. Your work and effort stands out and it is very eye-catching. Congratulations to the whole class too. Your hard work is outstanding. Remember to be extra amazing for your mother, it's Mother's

  2. Hi Kereru. I read the title of the book your teacher read to you. When I read the title, 'Have You Filled Your Bucket Today', I thought it would be a story about children going to the beach and collecting things there. Oh, I was wrong! I read all the wonderful things you want to fill your bucket with. I would like to fill mine with being kind to others, being friendly to people who are sad or need a friend and I want to be the best I can, every day. What a lovely storybook and what fabulous ideas you all have about what you want your bucket to be filled with. What kind and thoughtful children you are.
Thank you for all the lovely work we can share on your class blog. Keep up the awesome sharing!

I have not seen that story before and I was very interested to look at all the fabulous ideas you got from listening to the story. Your writing and drawing was fantastic. 5. Wow Kereru, you have all been very busy! I loved looking at all your learning. "Have you filled your bucket today' is one of my favourite books to read. It is so easy to fill your bucket and to make someone in your bubble happy. I will have to think about filling my bucket today too.
