Matariki Celebrations
Nga mihi o te tau hou Maori, koutou katoa !!
Happy Maori New Year everybody. !!
At the beginning of this term, the Junior syndicate celebrated Matariki. It was an amazing day filled with fun activities. In Kererū, we made taonga. We learnt that when you wear a taonga, It is said that it protects your spirit -" tou wairua tapu".
Have a look at our awesome work!
E pai rawa atu nei Romeo.
Look the these amazing taonga
Kapai korua !!
In Kakapo, we made some Matariki stars. We used a thick plastic to cut our star shapes from. Then we tore different coloured tissue papers and collaged the star. We had so much fun doing this.
